Everything we've ever learned about
work at home...
Our Customer Service Reps hear stories almost constantly from innocent people who have fallen victim to some sort of "work at home" or money-making scam. It makes us really angry. One day someone on our staff stepped up to bat with a simple suggestion... "Why don't we just tell them (our customers) everything we know?"
So the idea for this web page was born. At this page we share with you the best tips we've learned for avoiding work at home scams.
We have found that you can eliminate most work at home scams by making sure any company you're considering dealing with meets ALL FOUR of these requirements:
- Make sure the company is listed in directory assistance in their local city under the SAME name they're advertising as. (The company name isn't always the same as the website name.) Any company who isn't listed in directory assistance under that name probably isn't a real company. That should be a huge red flag to you! In our experience you can eliminate over 90% of all scams with this one simple step.
- Make sure the company accepts charge cards and that the name of the company who will appear on your credit card statement is the SAME company you think you're doing business with.
- Check out any company with consumer agencies, but be aware that it is very easy for real scampsters to get around consumer agencies with little or no effort! All they have to do is simply change their p.o. box, name or phone number. Because of this, consumer agencies may not be warning you about the worst scammers. Check consumer agencies before dealing with any company but use the report as one of many tools, not the only tool. Beware of any company that has no report at all, has unanswered consumer complaints, or has large numbers of complaints in a short period of time.
- If you will be dealing with the company on the internet, make sure they use a secured server that protects your financial information. Check it out. Many work at home websites are not secure.

Here are other important tips and tricks you should be aware of when shopping "work at home" companies...
- Don't always believe testimonials. Some testimonials are true and some aren't. Although we do post testimonials at our website and we have letters and emails on file to back every single one of them up, we also encourage consumers to check us out in other ways, too, such as reading some of the great things the media has said about our company and/or to contact consumer agencies.
- Run work at home claims through your own common sense test. Can an honest company really guarantee you a job? (How can they do that if they don't know anything about you?) Or... If you were the company who needed envelope stuffing to be done, would you send a heavy of expensive materials and postage to someone you never met across country when you could hire someone across the street very easily for less cost and less risk?? Or... could a company really stay in business paying people $5.00 to answer one email?
- Study the guarantees and find out the conditions. Are there any catches? Study guarantees carefully.
- Try to find out EXACTLY what you're really getting for your money and get it in writing. Some of the sites that compete with us sound very similar to what we offer but they're actually nothing like us! Some offer little more than lists of business opportunities that will require you to spend more money. Other sites only offer lists of links to sites that have "expressed an interest" in hiring people to work at home "in the past. (Our site has current jobs listed!) We've had customers tell us that they thought they were ordering information that was very similar to ours from another site, but what they received was basically yellow page information and instructions to go out and find their own job. Others report buying information from other sites that was so out of date and inaccurate they thought it was made up, or a CD that wouldn't even work.
If you're comparing our information to other sites, here's a starter list of questions about the service you're buying. (Ask as many questions as you like. Honest companies shouldn't mind answering them.):
- Are they selling actual job listings for current jobs right now? Or is it something else, like a list of "interested" companies or websites that you don't know for sure are hiring now.
- What EXACTLY does each listing include? (Ours includes company name, address, the job title, the requirements for the job, a job title and a description of the job. It is everything you need to contact each company that you're interested in.)
- What exactly is the money back guarantee, if there is one, what are the conditions for it and how do you know they'll honor the guarantee? Are there any catches?
- How accurate is the information? How frequenty is it updated?
- Approximately how many listings do they have that don't require a single penny to start? How many of the listings are NOT business opportunities? How many of the listings are NOT assembly?
- Approximately how many of the listings can be done from where you live?
If you're considering doing business with a specific website and you'd like our help comparing both sites, email us by clicking here. Please be sure to include the name of the website you're considering and any specific questions you might have.
- Envelope stuffing scams. Let the truth be known. There is no real job that will pay you $4.00 for every envelope stuffed. If it's out there, we've never seen it. There are people who get paid to stuff envelopes at home, but they didn't have to spend a single penny getting their job. If you're interested in this type of work you should read our special report, "How to Stuff Envelopes at Home Without Getting Ripped Off.". The report, for members only, tells exactly how to find legitimate envelope stuffing jobs without having to spend any money.
We've tried to give you all of the work at home information we have. (And we probably gave you more than you wanted!) If you still have any questions we can answer for you, please email us your question or concern by clicking here!
